Celebrated by his peers here and abroad, critically acclaimed and a favourite with the public, Denis Gagnon is one of the most important Quebec designers of his generation. A key figure in the fashion world (among other things, he’s been invited to work with Lancôme), Gagnon is the first Canadian designer to be exhibited in a museum (specifically, the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts). Known for his innovative and avant-garde stylistic sense, Gagnon produces moving sculptures. An ingenuous artist, Gagnon’s creations testify to a teeming imagination and combine high quality, oneirism and audacity. In 2016, he turned heads with his fall/winter collection and his muse, Louise Latraverse, as well as his MIDGMYAL 17 line of handbags, the result of a collaborative effort with Parisian designer Jérôme Bocchio.
